The Courage to Lead by Example

Dear Ones,

More people are sharing their experiences of how challenging it is to hear the constant barrage of painful news and polarizing dialogue, whether it comes from their local news outlet, preferred news source, social media, or radio programming.

It is unlike anything they have ever experienced, almost dizzying in the amount of information to take in, understand, and digest. Often creating fear and alienation, outrage, and separation.

At a microcosmic level, it is insanity at its worst, and many of us are feeling the effects in our bodies, often igniting a post-traumatic stress response. Our bodies are going into a fight, flight, freeze, or fawn response. Are we safe? What is going to happen next? Who will be the next target? My Family? Friends? Me?

We are asking…How can we ride this wave of intensity? How can we stay in the center of the hurricane? Is it even OK to stay in the center? Shouldn’t we be doing something? Fighting back?

It is essential to ground, to feel connected to the Earth, to the energy of creation that flows through us when we breathe, and to go inward to ask ourselves, ‘What is important to me?’ ‘What are my values?’ ‘How do I want to live?’.

This place within us is our inner authority, a microcosm of the life force, connected to our hearts, that becomes our guide. It carries great wisdom and healing for our planet, helping us take the next steps with courage, bringing heart, head, and body together.

It starts with loving and forgiving ourselves. It extends to our partners, family, neighbors, community, and the world. We lead by example, taking small steps forward towards the other, finding solace in the mutual pain of our hurt, compassion when our differences are vast, and forgiveness as we create a new model of living.

We reconnect with the Earth, with one another, with Spirit, and with love to start this new chapter in our world. We reset. We hold each other. We hold ourselves. We pray, we cry, we grieve, we dance, we sing, and we walk through these fires of transformation together. When we fall or falter, we stand back up, forgive, and take the next right step. We find our way. We are not alone.

A bigger picture is emerging- a macrocosm of change, a metamorphosis arising from the imaginal cells that will support our evolution into a better human in partnership with the Earth.

As old systems are dismantled, we are each being called to find the courage to lead by example and stand for what is unifying and in right relationship with love and respect for life.

Hope to see you soon!

Much Love,

Carley and John
