These are incredibly challenging times that were predicted long ago, times of great change and upheaval. A time when old structures would fall so new ones could be built that are more in alignment with being in right relationship with each other and nature.

My office in the Heartland Healing Arts Center recently moved from its location on Clocktower to 4211 Westgate Drive in Springfield, Illinois. During this move, several folks noticed my burnt orange and black wall hanging as it was trying to find its place in my new office.

We are in trying times of upheaval and change where we may feel our actions have little impact in the world. And yet with each step of our journey we are making choices and each small choice makes a difference in the grander scheme of things.

I have been contemplating the death of Rafiki, a Mountain Gorilla of Uganda. Rafiki carried the energy of a place and time on our planet, much like Cecil the Lion of Zimbabwe in 2016, and his death is a wake up call for humanity.
